Jonathan Pryce is one of the great living performers — two Tonys, two Oliviers, two Emmy nominations alone this year(!), and an Oscar nomination for 2019’s The Two Popes (he lost to Joaquin Phoenix in Joker). Pryce and Anthony Hopkins together? Two GOATs! Amazing.

But Pryce also should have has an earlier date with Oscar. In 1995, he starred alongside Emma Thompson in the film Carrington (1995), which centers on a platonic relationship between gay writer Lytton Strachey and painter Dora Carrington. For his portrayal of Strachey, Pryce received the Best Actor Award at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival. And he should have been nominated for an Oscar then too!

Which leads me to another idea: some of the best on-screen pairings I have ever seen are Hopkins and Thompson (Howards End and The Remains of the Day) and Hopkins and Pryce. When can the three of them get together for a movie?!
