Alfre Woodard, born on this date in 1952, is one of the great performers in television and film — with four Emmys and one Oscar nomination to show for it. While nominated in 1983 for Best Supporting Actress in Cross reek, she also should have been nominated in 1992 for Passion Fish. And she should have won and been nominated for 2019’s Clemency!
