Two years ago, Your Honor proved to be a huge hit for Showtime. A rock-solid thriller about an esteemed New Orleans judge (Bryan Cranston) desperate to do anything to protect his teenage son after a car accident claims the life of a local mobster’s son, Your Honor was exciting and well-crafted. Two seasons later, a second (and supposedly final) season has undone that magic. Like Big Little Lies before it, Your Honor squanders titanic talent and audience goodwill in favor of high ratings, retconning past storylines and straining general credulity. Some things are better left alone.
